The Theft of Thor's Hammer
Summary:
On morning, Thor woke up and could not find him hammer, Mjollnir. He searched all throughout Asgard but could not find it. He found Loki and Loki agreed to help Thor look for his hammer. He then went to Freya to ask to borrow her falcon-feathered cloak so he could fly to Jotunheim to look there for Thor's Hammer. Loki flew to Jotunheim and asked the Frost Giant Thrym if he had taken Thor's Hammer. Thrym confessed that he had taken Thor's Hammer and would only return the Hammer to Thor if Freya agreed to be his bride. Loki returned to Asgard and relayed the message to the gods. Freya disagreed and the gods devised another plan. Heimdall, the wisest god, planned that Thor would dress up as the bride by putting him in a long dress and hide his face with a bridal veil. Loki and the disguised Thor then returned to Jotunheim where there was a giant feast for them. They ate and drank until Thrym commanded to bring forth Thor's hammer and place it on his "bride's" lap as they make their marriage vows. Once the Hammer was placed on the "bride's" lap, Thor quickly grabbed his hammer and smashed Thrym to the ground and then killed all of the Frost Giant's kin.
